High School | Grades 9–12

Preparing Students for College and for What Comes Next

The High School at Learning Unlimited Preparatory School provides a rigorous, personalized U.S. college-preparatory education for students in Grades 9–12. Within a diverse and supportive learning community, students are challenged to become independent thinkers, confident communicators, responsible decision-makers, and engaged global citizens.

Our academic program combines a strong foundation in the core disciplines with opportunities for Advanced Placement (AP) and Honors courses, electives, technology, the arts, independent learning, leadership, and service. As students progress through high school, they move beyond acquiring knowledge to analyzing, questioning, researching, creating, and applying what they learn.

A Challenging and Personalized Academic Experience
At LUPS, students are known as individuals. Small classes and close relationships with faculty allow us to recognize each student’s strengths, interests, goals, and areas for growth while maintaining high academic expectations.

Our High School curriculum provides appropriate challenges while developing progressively greater independence. Students strengthen the critical thinking, writing, research, problem-solving, collaboration, and study skills necessary for success in demanding postsecondary environments.

College Readiness with Purpose

College preparation at LUPS is about more than gaining admission. We want our students to be prepared to succeed when they get there.

Throughout high school, students develop the organization, time management, academic integrity, self-advocacy, communication, research, and decision-making skills required for university-level learning. Academic advising, college and career planning, extracurricular involvement, and leadership opportunities help students discover their strengths, explore future pathways, and take increasing ownership of their goals.

A Global Community

Our location in St. Maarten and the international character of the LUPS community create a learning environment shaped by different cultures, perspectives, languages, and experiences.

We believe a strong education develops character as well as intellect. Students are encouraged to demonstrate integrity, empathy, cultural awareness, ethical judgment, leadership, and responsibility to others, qualities that prepare them to contribute meaningfully to universities, workplaces, and communities around the world.

Partnership and Individual Guidance

A strong partnership among students, families, teachers, counselors, and school leadership supports each student’s high school journey. Through ongoing guidance in academics, course selection, personal development, and postsecondary planning, LUPS combines the personal attention of a small independent school with the expectations of a rigorous college-preparatory program.

Our goal is simple: every LUPS graduate should leave HighSchool prepared to think independently, communicate effectively, act responsibly, and confidently meet the academic and personal challenges of what comes next.
